Note: If you're reading on GeneaBloggers, sorry for the second post; I mistakenly hit "publish" earlier in the week before I was ready. :( Blog and learn ...
Today we have my STEVENSON line - my mom's family lineage, backwards in time from North Louisiana through the South and back to SC, PA and County Antrim, Ireland. Corrections, additions, and questions welcomed; this is a work in progress. Numbers refer to ahnentafel (pedigree chart) numbering. I have to credit my mom with most of the research on this line.

Great post. I was awarded you the Ancestor Approved Award. You can pick it up over at Flipside http://lindasflipside.blogspot.com/2010/04/ancestor-approved-award.html
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda! That's very kind of you. :)
ReplyDeleteLiz, I'm excited to read your post. Your James Stevenson (Stephenson) was my 6th great grandfather. I can help you fill in a little. His parents were Henry Stephenson, born 1698, in Roxburghshire, Scotland. Henry migrated to Ulster, Ireland with many other Lowland Scots. There he married Anne Curlett from County Antrim,Ireland. I have a lot more information about his descendants who stayed in the southern Tennessee and N. Alabama region. Would be glad to send this to you if you wish. I'm writing from my computer at the high school where I teach. My home computer has caught a bad virus and is recouperating. Should be back on its feet in a day or 2. Contact me at tomstev@pclnet.net. By the way, in case you've ever wondered about this. The Scottish Stevensons (Stephensons) are a part of Clan MacTavish. You have some quite well known ancestors including Robert Louis Stevenson. I am the Alabama Commissioner for Clan MacTavish. Look us up on the net. We have a great website and some fantastic people; including the chief. We went to Scotland last summer and had a once in a lifetime experience. Thanks, Tom Stevenson
ReplyDeleteFascinating, my grandfather was James Stevenson born 18/10/1900 in saintfield county down n. ireland more than likely Scottish settlers but could never trace much further back. Great article thanks James Stevenson co. Antrim
ReplyDeleteHi James,
